From woodworking and black powder demonstrations to live music and 18th century games, Celtic Weekend in Edgewater offers loads of fun.

EDGEWATER, MD — Celebrate your Scottish and Irish heritage all weekend long Aug. 9-11 at Celtic Weekend, 839 Londontown Rd., Edgewater. The special event begins Friday night with a tasting tour of Ireland through a variety of whiskeys and runs 7 to 9 p.m.

On Saturday and Sunday, guests will enjoy live music, black powder demonstrations, hearth cooking, woodworking, fabric dyeing, a waulking demonstration and 18th century games from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. both days.

Person bitten by rabid fox in Franklin County, rabies alert issued – WTXL ABC 27

EASTPOINT, Fla. (WTXL) — The Florida Department of Health is issuing a rabies alert after a person was bitten by a rabid fox in Eastpoint. Health officials say the individual was bitten by a fox in the triangular area of Island Dive, Patton Drive, and US Hwy 98. That fox tested positive for rabies on Tuesday. The rabies alert will be in effect for 60 days. Officials say all residents of Franklin County should be aware that rabies is present in the wild animal population and domestic animals are at risk if not vaccinated. All domestic animals should be vaccinated against rabies and all wildlife contact should be avoided, particularly raccoons, bats, foxes, skunks, otters, bobcats and coyotes.
